SAMPO (DAY THE EARTH FROZE)(1959) - DVD
Fantasy epic with an evil witch by the name of Loki (nope, not the Loki that's Thor's evil brother in comics....though she looks like him!). A young woman is captured and held in the cave of the witch. The caverns look like Hades with slaves working over fire. Loki, through the use of black magic, begins freezing the earth. A Russian film, dubbed in English, that has a very bizarre look with alien landscape matte paintings and otherworldly special effects. Cool to look at with flying black capes and magical harps that create the Northern Lights.
