MANOS - HAND OF FATE (1966) - DVD

Stars -- Torgo. Oh man, I like all kinds of horror and sci-fi, but if you really want to hurt yourself, this is it. Mystery Science Theatre does the best they can to make this film watchable. Whewwww-weeee. I defy anyone to stay coherant while triple-featuring this with THE CREEPING TERROR and BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS. Or, even sane. One of the most bizarre low, low budget films you'll ever see. Lots of standing around in a paneled room with a couch while a wacky caetaker (Torgo!) mumbles about the "master." Devil worshipping group torments a stranded family out in the middle of nowhere. Well, you do get to hear the family sing a "round" song. Joey Dee and the Starlighters missed their chance for a BIG follow-up to the "Peppermint Twist" by doing the "Torgo Twist." Torgo steals the show with his shuffling around and foggy blank stares. After a viewing and you find yourself ramming your head against plasterboard, you'll wish you had a padded cell. I like it.
