INNER SANCTUM MYSTERIES (1943-1945) - DVD Set
CALLING DR. DEATH (1943). In CALLING DR. DEATH Lon Chaney is a hypnotist who believes he can kill people by willing it. Those great crazy voice-overs and the opening with the spooky head in the crystal ball.
Lon Chaney's a painter in DEAD MAN'S EYES (1944) with assistant Acquanetta. When he burns his eyes with acid, a murder occurs -- who is responsible?
WEIRD WOMAN (1944) is the most "supernatural" of the series with voodoo and witchcraft. Chaney gets super support with three great ladies of the 40's: Evelyn Ankers, Anne Gwynne and Elizabeth Russell.
THE FROZEN GHOST (1945) features Chaney hiding out, trying to get his life straightened out in a wax museum. Wrong place. The museum has Martin Kosleck playing a sculptor with a bit too twisted of a brain.
STRANGE CONFESSION (1945) was the most sought after of the series, being out of circulation for decades because of rights problems. It's back! And, guess what Lon is carrying in that bag that's just big enough for a human head!
PILLOW OF DEATH (1945) has the persecuted Chaney searching for the killer and finding himself sleepwalking in a graveyard and discovering an exhumed body in the basement.
